Mars

Mars is the fourth planet from the Sun in the solar system and is often referred to as the “Red Planet” due to its reddish appearance, which is a result of iron oxide, or rust, on its surface. It is characterized by its thin atmosphere, surface features both similar to the Moon and Earth, such as impact craters, valleys, and polar ice caps. Mars has a day length similar to Earth’s, approximately 24.6 hours, and experiences seasons due to its axial tilt. The planet has two small moons, Phobos and Deimos. Mars has been a focus of exploration due to its potential past conditions for harboring life and its status as a target for future human missions.
