Environmental Health

Environmental health is a field of public health that focuses on the interactions between the environment and human health. It studies how environmental factors—such as air and water quality, chemical exposures, and community design—impact individuals and populations. The aim is to identify and mitigate risks that arise from environmental hazards, promoting a healthier living environment. Environmental health addresses both natural and man-made pollutants and includes assessments of biological, chemical, and physical agents in various environments, including urban, rural, and occupational settings. By understanding these interactions, policies and interventions can be developed to reduce disease and health disparities linked to environmental conditions.
