Exobiology

Exobiology, also known as astrobiology, is the scientific study of the potential for life beyond Earth. It explores the conditions under which life might arise, exist, and evolve in extraterrestrial environments, as well as the factors that might allow life to survive in space. Exobiology encompasses the examination of extreme environments on Earth, such as deep-sea vents or polar ice caps, to understand how life can adapt and thrive in harsh conditions. This field also investigates the chemical and biological processes that could support life on other planets and moons, such as Mars or Europa. By studying biosignatures and seeking direct evidence of alien life, exobiologists aim to answer fundamental questions about the existence of life beyond our own planet and the possible forms it may take.
